Where does Vera Circle launch?
Ottawa is open in the app. Other Ontario and Canada areas follow. Leftover invite codes still grant founding.
Does it cost anything to join the waitlist?
No. Joining is free, and confirming your email simply puts you on the list. We will never charge you for a spot.
Why do you ask for my postal code?
We only ask for the first three characters, the forward sortation area, like K1A. That is neighbourhood-level, enough to see where interest is and invite by launch area, without asking for your address.
Do I pick a provider, or post the job?
Either, in the app. Search nearby verified providers and book one, or post what you need and let nearby providers apply with a quote. You choose who to hire either way.
Can I create an account without an invite?
Yes in Ottawa. Open the app, pick a role, and confirm you are 18 or older. If you have a leftover invite, enter that code to claim founding.
Founding
Am I a founding member once I confirm my email?
No. Confirming puts you on the waitlist. Founding status is granted only when we send you an invite for your area and you create an account with that invite code.
What do founding members get?
Founding providers keep a reduced commission for 90 days after approval (first 50 who qualify), and founding customers get early access plus a founding badge on their profile. Both are limited to the first invited cohort in each area.
Providers
Who can offer services?
Anyone 18 or older in Canada who passes identity verification, completes payout onboarding, and gets profile approval from our team. You also attest that you carry your own liability insurance if your trade requires it.
How much commission do you take?
Vera Circle takes a commission on the service amount, locked in when the job is confirmed so a rate change never surprises you mid-job. Tips go 100% to the provider.
Payments
When am I charged?
You are not charged when you book. We place a hold on your card up to 48 hours before the job, then charge you only after the work is done and confirmed. Hourly jobs bill the time actually worked, rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes. The provider is paid after a short waiting period.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel 24 hours or more before the start and there is no fee. Inside 24 hours a 25% late-cancellation fee applies. If a provider cancels late, you are not charged and they carry a strike.
Trust
How do reviews work?
Both sides rate each other after a completed job. Neither review is visible until both are submitted or seven days pass, so nobody can wait to see their rating before writing one.
What if something goes wrong on a job?
Open a dispute from the booking while the visit is underway, or after completion until we release the provider's payout. Payout is held while our team reviews both sides, and we can refund in full or in part. Vera Circle carries commercial general liability for the platform; providers are responsible for their own work.
Can I get a copy of my data, or delete my account?
Yes. You can download everything we hold about you from your profile, and request deletion once you have no open bookings, disputes or unfinished payments. Financial records are retained where Canadian tax law requires it.
